Ta very much, minister Lombard! Indeed, I do think we should have an antipodean caucus - the alice in wonderland type where you gather with some imaginary animals and wander in circles in a puddle of someone else's tears.
I thought, as minister for the colonies, the first thing i should do is to berate those who think that colonialism is passe, done with, and to be "out like bellbottom trousers" into the salvos bin. No no! Colonialism is alive and well, and our current day colonialists should stop hiding their lights under their respective bushels.
If George Bush wants to colonise Iraq he should proudly say so, if John Howard wants to invade Nauruan territory, he should just say, "pass the pith helmet, and don't spare the G&T chaps, I'm going in!"
What's more, I'll be ensuring that anyone wishing to dabble in colonialism does it PROPERLY - if you invade a country, then its citizens become your own subjects - and therefore every Iraqi should be issued with US, Australian, Italian etc passports, and the ability to claim the unemployment benefit, seeing as US contractors are taking all their jobs.
Brownie: I'm ashamed to say that with my increased ministerial duties, i've had to delegate my jazz ballet responsibilities to nikki webster. I understand that some of her decisions in this regard have been challenged in the popular press, however I stand by her fully, and reiterate that ms webster and I confer on a regular basis on individual cases.
